Bokeh has become one of the most popular open source solutions for creating interactive, browser-based visualizations from complex datasets. However, there are still important areas of biomedical science where researchers and practitioners have to resort to expensive and proprietary software tied to a particular desktop operating system (OS) configuration. This project will improve Bokeh’s underlying gridded-data support to make it more competitive with commercial and OS-specific tools, as well as providing extensive bioscience examples to support researchers.
