Computational Biology Software Maintenance Framework

Legacy EOSS

2020

Proposal Summary

To reorganize the libSBML and Deviser code bases for better community involvement, spin out part of libSBML as a reusable component for Deviser and other projects, and establish protocols for long-term sustainability of these important resources.

libSBML

SBML (the Systems Biology Markup Language) is a standard format that facilitates the reuse and exchange of unambiguous models in the field of computational biology. Several other standards have developed using the experience and template of SBML, and in 2009, SBML became one of the founding standards of the COMBINE (computational modeling in biology network) community. COMBINE brings together standards for related fields and for common cross-cutting concerns such as graphical networks and reproducible simulation descriptions.
